The Spear is revered as the king of long weapons, although seemingly simple in design, its versatility, speed and dexterity is excellent. There is a saying ‘one month to learn staff, a year for the saber, and a lifetime for the Spear’, this is to explain the difficulty of wielding or mastering the spear but also for continuous refinement of its techniques possible.Da Liuhe Men has since one can remember been well for its spear, in fact its methods are held in such regards, that many styles would have named their spear as ‘liuhe’ spear or even learnt a few fundamental techniques on which to formulate their own liuhe spear.

The Liuhe Spear of Da Liuhe Men is not just a set of techniques, or forms of practice, it is a system with a vast series of combat methods.
